Kenneth S. Urakawa
Ken is a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer, and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has also been certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and USA Weightlifting.
Ken grew up near Seattle, Washington, and was active throughout childhood in sports and outdoor activities. He played football, ran track, wrestled, and played soccer. He attended Butler University, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received his Masters from Arizona State University in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Sport Psychology. He has played soccer at both the Collegiate and Semi-Pro level, and competed in a few Olympic Weightlifting meets.
In addition to personal training in traditional fitness settings, he has worked with athletes and sports teams in a variety of sports, and personnel in the Military, Law Enforcement, and Fire Fighting professions. Ken also teaches a class on Sport Psychology at a local Community College.
Ken currently lives in Chandler with his wife, Meredith, and their two children, Meghan and Kaz.
